Clinical Observership

Clinical Observership — 2 & 4 Week

An observership-only experience set entirely inside an active private specialty practice — pediatric dentistry & orthodontics — under Dr. Sidhu and her team. No direct patient care; deep, structured exposure to how U.S. dentistry really works.

What you'll gain

More than shadowing — a structured U.S. clinical immersion

Not just shadowing

Different from passive shadowing

Most observerships leave you standing at the back. This one puts you in the conversation.

Tangible outcomes

What you leave with

Real, documented takeaways you can point to on your application — not just time spent.

  • A certificate of completion
  • CE credit verification, where applicable
  • A clinical log and reflection journal documenting your time chairside
  • Personalized mentorship feedback from Dr. Sidhu
  • A possible letter of recommendation — where earned
  • Confidence to speak about real U.S. clinical exposure in your CAAPID application and interviews

On letters of recommendation: letters are earned, never sold — considered only if Dr. Sidhu or the supervising specialist can honestly speak to your professionalism, engagement, growth, and fit.

From our observers

What it's like inside the practice

  • “She discussed every case in detail and is a natural teacher — exceptionally educational.” I shadowed Dr. Sidhu at Say Cheez for two weeks and gained valuable clinical insight and exposure to U.S. dental practice. She discussed every case in detail and is a natural teacher — I learned HIPAA compliance, sterilization, and patient-management systems, and watching her perform infant tongue-tie laser procedures was a unique experience. Her compassionate approach, especially with anxious pediatric patients, made it exceptionally educational. The clinic is modern, well-organized, and equipped with advanced technology.

Questions

Observership FAQ

Is this hands-on, or observation only?

This is an observership only — there is no direct patient care. You'll observe and participate in case discussions and treatment planning inside an active private specialty practice.

Will I receive letters of recommendation?

A letter of recommendation may be available — based on your performance and fit during the program — and is not guaranteed. Where earned, a letter from a specialist (a pediatric dentist or orthodontist) is a rare and valuable addition to a CAAPID profile. The 4-week program offers the strongest opportunity.

Do you provide visa support?

We can provide a Letter of Invitation for eligible observership participants. It supports your travel application but does not guarantee visa approval and is not immigration or legal advice; you remain responsible for your own visa application, travel arrangements, and compliance with U.S. entry requirements.

How is the 2-week different from the 4-week?

The 4-week Clinical Preceptorship is our most comprehensive experience and includes the full orthodontics week. The 2-week intensive condenses Weeks 1–2 with personalized mentorship feedback and a possible letter of recommendation where earned.

Are CE credits and a certificate included?

Yes — you'll receive a certificate of completion, and CE credits where applicable.

Can I combine the observership with bench-test prep?

Yes — many international dentists do both. We'll sequence them on your discovery call so the observership and bench-test preparation reinforce each other.

What do I receive after the observership?

A certificate of completion, CE verification where applicable, a clinical log and reflection journal, personalized mentorship feedback, and — where earned — a letter of recommendation.

How is this different from a hospital observership?

Hospital programs are often large, passive, and impersonal. Here you're in a small cohort inside Dr. Sidhu's active private specialty practice — chairside and in the case discussions, with direct mentorship every day.
